Hi Jeane, just wanted to say a BIG THANK-YOU!!! After three years of doing the full South-Island Show-Jumping circuit, and having taken a 5yr old through to the 7yr old 1.30m classes with considerable success. I know how hard it is to not simply produce good show-jumpers but to keep them on form week after week, especially the young horse!!Thanks to your lasering my horses have all preformed very successfully week after week (and year after year). The most amazing for me ,not only from the results it produced, but the "fully in tune" with my horses feeling it has taught me, was having Southern Fire lasered right from the start of his jumping career. As this was the equivalent of "starting with a clean slate", it became very easy to immediately detect when he was feeling "a bit sore" , as he would be doing things he wouldn't normally e.g. hanging, going wallmouthed to one side, leaning in or out, not moving as freely forward , the list goes on. It was consistently amazing to see and feel after a laser treatment these evasions simply disappeared.
The older horses took longer as the muscles had been set to avoiding the pain and the behaviors had become habit, but they did definitely improve out of sight¡¦it just took longer. As jumping is a high impact sport, strain on muscles is a constant occurrence and not just to the horses, which is why I have to finish of with another thanks for the laser treatments which fixed many muscles of my own in particular a "kink" neck that nothing else had fixed!!!! And by the way no that has never bothered me again. I look forward to have you work with me and my horses in the future, helping me towards my goal of jumping Grand Prix.
All the best and hope to see you soon.
Cherie Cournane.

During my first few years as a Laser therapist, I found that a number of my clients had tried many other avenues to alleviate the variety of conditions that were presented. Now, in my eighth year, I find that I am frequently contacted first! I often work collaboratively with other professionals in the Equine industry to effect a faster healing process for many conditions.
"I decided to get my horse lasered because I knew he was sore but couldn't pinpoint exactly where. He wasn't moving forward and was generally grumpy and fidgety. The scanning highlighted distinctly the areas of soreness and the treatment made a huge difference to his movement and behaviour. I invest in Laser treatment whenever it's required,to ensure my horses are happy, healthy and pain free."

"We first contacted Jeane regarding laser therapy when Aramid started working unevenly in training .
He was scanned and found to have a shoulder injury. This was treated with the laser and Aramid trotted evenly again, qualifying a week later.
He had another treatment and won his first raceday start in record time the week after that.
We have found laser treatment very useful in our training programme and the horses enjoy the therapy."Aramid, Ken Ford Racing Team, Rolleston, NZ
I had a shoulder injury which caused me recurring discomfort and pain. This injury restricted some aspects of my work and sporting interests. After one laser treatment from Jeane, the injury has never caused a problem again. I now have full use of my shoulder and I'm pain free.

"I've been using Jeane Calvert's equine laser therapy to treat a number of my horses over many years.
As with the training of all equine athletes, there is an occurrance of muscle soreness from time to time.
I have found Equine Laser Therapy to be an essential part of the maintenance and rehabilitation of my horses.
I would reccommend laser therapy, not only because it treats specific injuries or soreness, but also improves the whole well-being of my horses."

My first introduction to the Medi-laze was when Jeane came to laser my horse, who didn't have anything wrong with him I thought except a shin splint developing, Jeane's scanner soon shot that theory down in flames. After the laser had worked its magic on my horse, Jeane lasered my feet, which at that time were very painful with an Arthritis flare-up. As the laser beeped away, I could feel the pain easing away. Afterwards, it was like riding a new horse and walking on new feet. So when Jeane said she had a Medi-laze compact 50 she could sell to me, I leapt at the chance to buy it and have never regretted that decision. My compact 50 has been used extensively on both humans and horses, for a wide variety of injuries and painful conditions. My only fear is that one day it will wear out and if that happens, I would have no hesitation in buying another.

I first had Jeane laser my dressage horse at the end of a weekend of competition early last season. While I didn't think there was anything wrong with him I wanted to be sure, and felt that Jeane's way of scanning for heat in muscles first looked as though it would be a reliable way of finding out. I had heard good things about lasering. I was pleased when she reported nothing other than the usual tiredness you would expect at the end of a competition, but he certainly seemed to perk up after the weekend quickly. Later in the season, Botswa gave me cause to try Jeane's laser myself when he took fright at a competition at McLeans Island and the resulting leap and buck gave me a short flight and a very nasty landing on some hard Canterbury rocks! I felt like I had ripped most of the muscles down one leg and could hardly walk, getting into the truck was nearly impossible and I didn't have a hope of putting bandages or boots on the horse. Riding, or even driving home were out of the question. While I had my wonderful husband with me, who could have driven me home, I am a self-confessed neurotic when my horses are on board unless I am driving. A trip from Canterbury to South Otago would have definitely put a strain on a very good relationship - there is no way James would have been speaking to me! Someone suggested Jeane, who was judging, might have her laser. She didn't have it that day, but brought it with her the next and I became a total convert to the virtue of lasering. I could walk, walk up and down the stairs, bend down and put my own socks on and even felt fit to drive. I have decided that Jeane works miracles, saves marriages and more than possibly walks on water in her spare time! My biggest regret was that I couldn't get away with packing her in the truck and bringing her home, as I would have loved a couple more treatments after the journey home, but there is no way I would have made it home on schedule without Jeane. I have total faith in the ability of laser treatment to ease muscle pains now and also feel very confident about having Jeane around my horses as she is very calm and patient with them. If you have been considering laser treatment, take it from me that you couldn't be in better hands than Jeane's.

I strongly recommend the use of laser therapy on soft tissue injuries in horses. After my horse injured herself (a pulled muscle) somehow in the paddock and was so lame she couldn't walk or get down to roll (unheard of for her as she loves being dirty!), I got Jeane to lazer treat her twice in the 10 days following the injury. The photo is testimony to how well she went just two weeks after the initial injury. A fantastic result, with no added discomfort to the horse!

The problem with my horse started over a year ago. My 5 yr old Quarter Horse mare, Argyle Sheza Smokin, somehow injured herself in the paddock. There was not a mark on her, but the muscles on her off hindquarters were swollen. She could hardly walk. After a couple of weeks rest the swelling went down & she seemed fine. I was wrong. Smoke was a young horse and part of her training was to have her ¡°move out¡±, but she wouldn¡¯t. Her trot was like a shuffle, and her canter was like riding something with square wheels. She was very heavy on the front end and I just couldn¡¯t get her to move properly. So began a long list of Vets, horse Chiropractors, healers, liniments, rubs, medications etc. A year later I had some success, but the mare still wasn¡¯t moving freely. A friend suggested I try Jocelyn. I admit I was sceptical, but I had tried everything I knew and had nothing to lose. Jocelyn arrived and began scanning the mare for hot spots. Not surprisingly, there was a large concentration of ¡°spots¡± on her off hindquarters! Her injury had never healed properly and her whole body was compensating. It was no wonder she couldn¡¯t move. Now after 5 treatments, I have a new horse. Friends who rode Smoke before treatment couldn¡¯t believe the difference after treatment. We can now carry on with our training. It¡¯s taken a year, but we¡¯re finally moving freely forward .
Thank You Jocelyn

SPRINGHILL ARABIANS
I was put onto Jocelyn by my friend Laura who had very good success with Laser Therapy on her Quarter horse. I had been sceptical as most are at first but I had a long standing problem with my purebred Arab filly Kahischa (kitty). Kitty came into the world with a bump, she needed help to be born and she and I ended up on the ground together in a heap. Kitty had a few escapades with Mum but nothing noteworthy. After weaning I put a cover on her- she had been handled everyday, she seemed fine in the stables and walking about, so I turned her loose ? and she bolted. Kitty crashed through a gate, & electric fence coming to a halt ¨ö an hour later. Every day she had her cover on, and everyday she bolted ? sometimes into gates ? or somersaulting over in one instance. This went on for 5 months. I tried everything, so Jocelyn waved her heat seeking device over Kitty and found over 80 hot spots ? Jocelyn said the only one worse than that was a horse that had been in a floating accident. Kitty has now had 4 treatments and the difference is amazing ? we think that she was so sore that when she moved with a cover on ? even without leg straps it hurt her so she bolted. I dread to think what would have happened if I had waited until she was broken in. Kitty now has her cover on and off in the paddock ?on calm days without even a headcollar on ? we had to retrain her to stop the bolting habit, but I was seriously considering putting her down. Now she will hopefully have a future as a competition horse.
